A. Driscoll-Meeting with Entrepreneur and Manufacturing Expert

Hey guys!

I have done a little research and talked to a few people about the manufacturing of our bags.  Having prototypes made in China may be cheaper but it would cost hundreds for shipping and end up costing us more money in the long run and will also have a longer turn around time.  But, once we do have the official prototype made we can consider having them manufactured in China depending on the amount of interest and number of orders we acquire through the local skate shops and boutiques.

On the other hand even if it cost a couple dollars more a bag to produce them in brooklyn or nyc then i think we should go that route just for marketing appeal, being made local.

I have made an appointment with Gene Kliot of Transpack.net at 10 a.m. Wed. morning.  I would like everyone to make it if they can.  Gene has many years of experience in prototyping and manufacturing. He has been in the eyewear and skate industry as well.  He owned 888skate.com, which is still running today, so he does have an extensive knowledge in the skate market as well.

This is what we will be covering with Gene:

-Prototyping
-Possible bag manufacturers and prototypers in the five boroughs
-Discussing the cross strap system and back support of the bag

If there is anything else you guys think we should cover in our meeting please comment.

Gene has offered us his already design strap and pad system too!  We are allowed to literally remove the straps and pads from one of his bags and attach it to our bag.

I think once we get this strap/backpad/anchorpoints figured out it will really come together.

We also should consider inside laptop pocket and maybe a small "hidden" zipper pocket in the back.
